How to Remove Marshall Knobs
- 1). Determine the set-screw size and screw type by visual inspection, or by inserting an Allen wrench or small flat-head screwdriver, until one or the other fits snugly. It may be necessary to try a few different Allen wrench sizes for proper fit, as there are a number of standard set-screw sizes.
- 2). Loosen the set screw by turning it counter-clockwise with the Allen wrench or screwdriver. Only a few turns will be necessary in most cases.
- 3). Pull the knob straight out with fingers. If the knob does not remove easily, loosen the set screw a few more turns.
- 4). Replace set-screw knob by pushing fully onto the shaft and tightening set-screw firmly.
- 1). Grasp the knob firmly with thumb and forefinger, pulling straight out. If the knob does not remove easily, try one of the alternative methods.
- 2). Form an open loop with a shoelace, sturdy string, or fabric, working the loop under the knob base.
- 3). Pull the two free ends of the string, lace, or fabric firmly to loosen the knob. A bit of wiggling action may be necessary.
- 4). Grasp the knob with thumb and forefinger, pulling straight out to remove.
- 5). Replace friction knobs by centering onto the shaft, and pushing firmly.
