How to Wash an Artificial Tree
- 1). Wrap the pot of your artificial tree in a plastic garbage bag. Tie the bag at the side to prevent any water from entering it. The plastic will protect the pot and its contents when you wash the artificial plant.
- 2). Place the artificial tree in the shower. If you have more than one artificial tree, you can place them all in the shower, provided you have enough room to maneuver the shower hose.
- 3). Fill a spray bottle a quarter full with liquid dish soap. Fill the remainder of the spray bottle with water. If you do not have liquid dish soap, you can use a mild body wash.
- 4). Attach a spray attachment to your shower head and douse the artificial tree with warm water. Make sure to hose down all of the leaves, even those at the very top of the tree.
- 5). Spray the leaves with the soap mixture in the spray bottle. Allow the soap to sit on the leaves for approximately 15 minutes before rinsing it away.
- 6). Rinse the artificial tree thoroughly, making sure to remove all traces of soap. Give the artificial tree a good shake when you have finished rinsing to remove any excess water.
- 7). Move the artificial tree outdoors to dry in the sun. If you prefer, you can simply allow the artificial tree to drip-dry in the shower, but it may take longer. Remove the plastic bag and move the artificial tree to its regular location once it has dried.
