How do I Draw Classic Graffiti?
- 1). Grip your pencil loosely and practice making large swirling curves on paper. Classic graffiti relies on looping, stylized shapes, so get comfortable with consistently making the same types of curves.
- 2). Write your name or a short word in block letters at the top of a page. Practice converting the first letter into a sequence of curved shapes. Try to draw the letter using as few curved lines as possible. Repeat with each letter of your word.
- 3). Draw letters next to each other on a fresh piece of paper. Draw the letters so that at least one-eighth of each letter overlaps an adjacent letter. Erase overlapping lines to make the letters appear stacked on top of each other.
- 4). Thicken lines on the right side of each letter to create a shadow effect. Try thickening lines on the inside of letters such as "O" and "B."
- 5). Color the letters with markers. Use a dominant color for the word. Color thickened shadow lines with darker colors such as dark purple, blue or black.
