How to Get Dead Grass to Grow
- 1). Rake the dead areas to loosen the dead matter on the surface. This will limit the compaction of dead matter that can inhibit plant growth.
- 2). Fill a liquid fertilizer applicator with organic liquid fertilizer specifically designed to revive lawns. This fertilizer should be available at your local home-improvement store.
- 3). Attach your hose to the applicator and adjust the applicator according to the fertilizer manufacturer's instructions.
- 4). Spray the fertilizer solution on the entire dead area.
- 5). After 24 hours, give the lawn a deep watering so that the soil is moist five inches down.
- 6). In mild weather, water deeply once a week. In hot, dry, or sunny weather, water deeply twice a week.
