How Tall Does a Pink Cherry Willow Tree Grow?
- Willow cherry trees grow 20 to 30 feet tall and 25 feet wide. This is a fast growing tree with a weeping crown and lush spring blossoms. The deep green leaves change to a rich golden-yellow color in fall, revealing long bare branches throughout the winter.
- The tree only requires pruning to control size and weak or broken branches. Weeping cherry prefers well-drained, clay-loamy soil and full sun. Because of its non-invasive root structure, the tree is okay to plant near sidewalks and driveways and is moderately drought tolerant.
- Common insects are spider mites that make the leaves and new branches yellow. Aphids cause malformations on new growth and destroy immature fruit. Using a horticultural oil will free the tree of pests and help ensure it reaches its full height potential.
