How to Kill Ants: Homemade
- 1). Combine the sugar, water and borax in a saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil. Boil it for 3 minutes, stirring with a spoon the entire time to dissolve the sugar and borax.
- 2). Use an icepick to make six holes, evenly spaced and 1 inch below the lid, in shallow, plastic containers.
- 3). Fill each container with the borax mixture to 1/2 inch below the holes, and place the lids on the containers.
- 4). Place the baited containers in rooms with ant problems but away from areas accessible to pets and children.
- 5). Wait for the ants to enter the containers. They will eat the borax-impregnated syrup and carry more back to their nests. Over time, borax kills ants.
- 6). Replace the bait when the borax solution disappears.
