How to Paint a Weapon
- 1). Mix two parts black paint with one part white on the palette. Dip a brush in the mixture. Paint a line approximately 5-inches long across the canvas that curves up slightly. This is the sword blade's lower edge.
- 2). Dip your brush in the same paint mixture. On the left end of the curved line paint a small line of approximately 1/4 inch that goes diagonally up and to the left. From the top of this line, paint a line that parallels the curve of the original line and is of the same length. Connect these lines on the right side with a straight, vertical line. This is the sword blade. Clean your brush.
- 3). Dip your brush in black paint. From the right end of the sword blade, paint a rectangle that is roughly the same width as the blade, and approximately 2-inches long. Fill in the rectangle with black. This is the sword's handle. Clean your brush.
- 4). Dip your brush in the gray mixture you used for the sword blade. With thin, diagonal strokes apply lines of gray paint to the handle of the sword to create the texture of the wrapped handles. Clean your brush.
- 5). Mix two parts black and one part white paint. Dip a brush in the paint. Apply this dark gray color to the bottom half of the sword blade, leaving the top half of the blade white. Clean your brush.
- 6). Mix two parts white and one part black paint. Dip a brush in the paint. Apply this light gray color to the top half of the sword blade to create the illusion of light hitting the metal from the top. Clean your brush.
