How to Change a PGBK Ink Cartridge on a Canon
- 1). Turn on the printer. Open the cover, which is the top portion where the scanner glass is located. Wait for the carriage holding the cartridges to move to the open area in front of you.
- 2). Remove the old black ink cartridge by pulling up on the end tab and out toward you.
- 3). Remove the new ink cartridge from the packaging. Twist the orange cap off the bottom of the ink cartridge without touching the electrical contacts toward the front of the cartridge. Do not touch the ink port under the orange cap.
- 4). Turn the ink cartridge over so the ink port is on the bottom and the electrical contacts are facing the printer.
- 5). Guide the ink cartridge into the open position on the far left side of the printer where the letters "PGBK" are located. Once the cartridge is in the slot, push forward and press down on the "Push" mark on the end of the cartridge closest to you. You will hear a snap, meaning the cartridge is secure.
- 6). Close the cover.
