How to Connect a Computer TV Tuner to Dish Network
- 1). Install the drivers and running software if you haven't already done so for the TV tuner. If the computer came with the TV tuner preinstalled, the necessary information has already been placed on the computer. However, if you installed the devices yourself, you also must install the drivers and software. The driver tells the computer how to handle the tuner while the software allows your computer to use it.
- 2). Connect an RF connector cable (also known as a coaxial cable) into the "Out" port on the back side of the Dish Network receiver.
- 3). Plug the other end of the RF connector cable onto the TV tuner of the computer. Make sure the cable is securely fastened around the port, otherwise you may lose your satellite signal.
- 4). Power on the Dish Network receiver. Launch the TV tuner software. More than likely there is a desktop icon for this. If not you can open the program through "Start," followed by "All Programs." When the software loads, it is going to pick up the programming from the receiver. To change the station you need to use the Dish Network remote control.
