How to Create an Outdoor Bar
- 1). Decide on a theme for your outdoor bar area. For example, make it match the rest of your exterior decor or create a tropical oasis such as with a tiki hut.
- 2). Choose an area near the house for access to electricity. Install an awning to cover the area for shade and coverage against rain.
- 3). Set out a table or small cart painted to match the theme of your outdoor space. Place stools or chairs around the area for your guests.
- 4). Hang shelves up on the exterior wall of your home above the table or cart. If using a small movable cart, install hooks for organization.
- 5). Place a small refrigerator and freezer combo underneath the table or next to the wall under the shelves. Alternatives include a keg fridge for beer or soft drinks for celebrations or a wine cooler for tasting parties.
- 6). Place your barware up on the shelves for easy access. For example, use colorful plastic cups for drinks and a basket full of little umbrellas to make things festive.
- 7). Install lighting to make the area usable for nighttime entertaining. Alternatively, plug in twinkle lights or a string of novelty lights around the area to highlight the barware.
- 8). Place accessories around your outdoor bar that showcase the theme. For example, hang up a vintage sign on the wall behind the table or bring in old fashioned candy dispensers to house peanuts.
