- 1). Click "Start" and type "cmd" into the "Search" box.

- 3). Type "chkdsk x: /f" and press "Enter," replacing "x" with the letter of the drive containing the inaccessible files.
- 4). Press "Y" to confirm that you wish to repair the drive.
- 5). Restart the computer to begin the repair.
