- 1). Insert the Windows XP Disc into your computer's disc drive, then restart. Press any key when prompted to boot from the disc.
- 2). Press "Enter" to start the installation, then press "F8" to agree to the license terms.
- 3). Highlight the hard drive using the arrow keys, press "D," then "L" to delete the drive.
- 4). Press "Enter," then select the NTFS file system, but not the fast option.
- 5). Click "Next," then enter a name and company name and press "Next" again.
- 6). Enter the serial key, then press "Next."
- 7). Enter an admin name and password if desired, then press "Next." If you do not want to enter an admin name and password, leave the boxes blank and press "Next."
- 8). Adjust the date and time, then press "Next." Press "Next" again in the two boxes that pop up. After the computer restarts, you are ready to use XP.
