- 1). Check the cable connection running from the Sony DCR-SR82 to the computer. The USB cable must be inserted completely into both the camera and the computer; otherwise, the computer is unable to detect the video camera.
- 2). Power on the digital video camera, and set it to "View" mode. If the Sony Handycam is not in "View" mode, the computer is unable to detect the camera.
- 3). Connect the camera after the computer has powered on. If you hook up the camera before the computer is on, it might not detect the video camera.
- 4). Reinstall the program. Registry information may have been removed from the computer system, causing the program to not function correctly or detect the camera. Installing the program again corrects this issue. Insert the software installation CD into the disc drive of the computer, then follow the installation prompts to completely set up the program. Restart the computer, and the system is able to detect the connected Sony DCR-SR82 video camera.
