How to Disable and Change the Local User Password

    • 1). Press the Windows key (between "Ctrl" and "Alt" on the left side of the keyboard) plus "R" to pull up the "Run" box.

    • 2). Type "compmgmt.msc" (no quotation marks), which will bring up "Computer Management."

    • 3). Double-click "Local Users and Groups."

    • 4). Double-click the "Users" folder.

    • 5). Double-click the appropriate user account on the right.

    • 6). Check the "Account is Disabled" box, and click "OK."

    • 7). Right-click the account, and select "Set Password."

    • 8). Click "Proceed."

    • 9). Enter the new password twice, and click "OK."
