How to Build a Hydro Bubbler
- 1). Lay the lid of your large plastic container on the ground and with the marker, trace the bottom of the plant pots in the middle and the aerator tube on one side. Trace as many holes as you have pots.
- 2). Cut along the marker lines with the box knife and remove the excess plastic.
- 3). Poke holes in the bottom of the plant pots with your awl to allow water to flow into the pot from below.
- 4). Connect your aerator stone to the plastic tube and put the stone at the bottom of your large container. Leave the tube hanging over the side for the moment.
- 5). Put the pots into the holes in the lid of your container, ensuring they don't fall through. Slide the tube from the aerator stone through the underside of the lid (so it pokes through the top) and put the lid on the container, tightening it down.
- 6). Pull one of your pots out and fill the large container with a mix of water and nutrient solution, according to the directions on your nutrient solution packet. Fill the container so that the water fills the bottom of each of the smaller plant pots.
- 7). Put your plants in the plant pots and stabilize them with the growth media so they stand upright and are properly supported.
- 8). Hook the aerator tube to the aerator pump and plug it in.
