    Cat Shapes

    • Draw cat shapes on card with a pencil. Use a different colored piece of card for every cat drawing. Cut out the card shapes of the cats with a pair of scissors. Choose a piece of colored card, which should be up to 1 foot in length and up to 9 inches in width. Mark three equal distances on the card with a pencil and ruler. Fold the card into three lengths. Glue the cats onto the three areas of the card, and write a word or words on each individual cat. Collectively, the words should spell out the whole card's message.

    Cat Photos

    • Use photographs of cats to put on cards. A good idea is to send loved ones photos of their own cats on a card. Use copies of original photographs for the card rather than cherished originals. Fold a piece of colored card in half and write your message on the card. Glue photographs of the cats on the card, and use a marker to draw colorful frames around the photographs. The frames should be unconventional and artistic. For example, include flowers shooting out of them, or birds flying around them.

    Cat Art

    • Select a piece of colored card and fold it in half lengthwise. Create a card consisting of cat drawings, but leave enough space on the card for your message. Draw the outline of the cats in pencil. Again with a pencil, draw the faces of the cats. Draw smiles on the faces of the cats, which will make them look more appealing. Use a black marker to draw over the penciled outline, penciled faces and smiles of the cats. Use a variety of colored markers to fill in the colors of the cats. The patterns on the coats of the cats should be conventional, but the colors should be a variety of both the conventional and unconventional.

    Cat Poetry

    • Design a card that includes verses of cat poetry. These should be light, short verses. A more personalized way of including cat poetry on a card is to write some poems yourself. The subjects of the poems should be the cats of the recipients. The card should be folded into an eighth of its original size, either by length or by width. The poems should be written on eight of the resultant 16 sides, with the card's message written under one poem.
