How to Get Rid of the Little Bees That Hover Around Your Food
- 1). Place some of the food on a plate and set it several feet away from where everyone is eating. The food will soon be found by flies and bees alike. This might not take all of the bees away but will reduce the number. They will prefer the food that no one is shooing them away from.
- 2). Cut a 2-liter bottle in half. Flip the top half over so the nozzle is pointing down.
- 3). Place the top of the bottle down inside the bottom half. Push it down inside until the two cut edges are next to each other.
- 4). Tape the edges together. This forms a bee trap with a large opening that narrows down. When the bees go in, it is hard to find their way back out.
- 5). Add a sweet liquid to the bottle by pouring it through the funneled hole. Just add a small layer so the liquid will not cover the opening.
- 6). Place the trap in the middle of the food. The bees will work their way toward it and make their way in. If your goal isn't to hurt the bees but just have a peaceful meal, make a door on the side of the trap and tape it shut. Open it when you are done eating and the bees will eventually make their way out.
