    • Alaska Lodging & Adventures offers trout fishing cabin rentals on a scenic 40-acre property located in the center of the Kenai Peninsula, 150 miles south of Anchorage. The cabins are on the shores of West Mackey Lake near the Kenai River.

      Cabins are equipped with either a queen-sized bed or twin bunk beds. All cabins are equipped with a full bath with shower, hide-a-bed, full kitchenette with pots, pans and dishes and color TV. Laundry facilities and wireless internet are available, and the lodge can supply ice coolers and fishing gear if needed.

      There is an outside area for cleaning fish as well as a large walk-in freezer. There is also a cabin for vacuum packing your fish. Available trout species include rainbow and Dolly Varden. There is no additional charge for children under 10.

    Go Fishing Alaska

    • Go Fishing Alaska is part of All Alaska Tours and operates unguided, rustic backcountry cabins along the Susitna River. Cabins are supplied with drinking water, gas stoves with cooking equipment and bunk beds. Some cabins have small aluminum boats with motors.

      You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, food and personal necessities. Go Fishing Alaska will supply fishing tackle (rod and reels), or you can bring own. it suggests you pick up your own flies and lures after you arrive in Alaska so you will have the native patterns.

      Trout species include rainbow, lake and Dolly Varden, as well as pike and grayling. Its package price includes three days and nights at a private cabin with round-trip float plane flight from Anchorage. There is a two-person minimum per cabin.

    Wrangell-St. Elias Preserve

    • There are 13 cabins, once used by miners, trappers or hunters, located within the Wrangell-St. Elias Preserve that the National Park Service has restored and makes available for public use.

      Many are located near streams, rivers and lakes that offer fishing for rainbow and Dolly Varden trout as well as grayling and salmon. The cabins are in remote locations, and most are accessible only by aircraft. The cabins are not able to be reserved and available to everyone on a first-come, first-served bases.

      Cabins are all only equipped with a wood stove and bunks, so you must bring any items you need including bedding, cooking, food and personal items. The Park Service requests that visitors replace any cut firewood and leave the cabin clean and ready for the next user.
