    Marriage

Joshua Harris, in his book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," asserts that dating can lead to a host of woes. Dating and marriage from a biblical perspective are completely different from our modern practice. Walking teens through the concept of a marriage covenant will bring questions and provoke strong emotions. The idea of purity in the dating process is also applicable.

    Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth in a high school-age student involves discipline. Bible memorization, regular Bible reading and prayer are critical topics. A Christian's relationship with God parallels the building of a friendship. Discuss how, in a friendship or dating relationship, you get to know the other person's likes and dislikes, find common interests and grow close to him in good times and bad, then relate the concept to the spiritual disciplines. Apply the concept of repentance, a turning from sin, as a natural byproduct of spiritual growth; as in a relationship, you strive to love and not hurt the other party.

    Occupation

In the Christian life, your occupation is a spiritual endeavor. Discuss how your occupation relates to your spiritual growth and your evangelism. Note that you do not have to work in a church to work "as for the Lord." Articulate how various occupations offer opportunities to reflect the students' God-given talents and allow them to give credit to their Creator in the process.
