How to Use a Snap Swivel For Fishing

    • 1). Assemble your fishing rod and attach a fishing reel spooled with monofilament line.

    • 2). Flip open the bail on the spinning reel and pull several feet of monofilament line through all of the fishing rod guides and beyond the tip of the fishing pole.

    • 3). Tie the round end of the snap swivel to the monofilament line using an improved clinch knot. Trim away the tag end of the clinch knot.

    • 4). Open the clasp end of the snap swivel by squeezing the wire clasp with your finger and guiding the loose end of the wire out of the metal groove that generally traps the wire.

    • 5). Slide the loose end of the wire through the eye of the hook or lure that you intend to use.

    • 6). Close the wire clasp portion of the swivel by guiding the loose wire portion of the swivel back inside the groove that holds the wire in place.
