How to Sketch a Scythe
- 1). Draw the handle by drawing two parallel vertical lines that are long in length and close together. Draw a horizontal line on the bottom to connect these two vertical lines together. Draw a horizontal line on the top of the two vertical lines. A few spaces down from the top of the handle, draw a horizontal line that also connects the two vertical lines.
- 2). Draw the blade, starting just a little bit below the very top of the handle. Draw the blade curving down to the right (or left if you'd like the blade to be on the left side of the handle). Sketch the bottom part of the blade, which will follow the same angle as the top part, except for the very beginning of the blade (the part near the handle), which will slightly angle up before following the downward angle the top part of the blade does. The blade should look fairly thick at the spot where it connects to the handle, but then should get smaller in size until it comes to a sharp point.
- 3). Add in shading or colors if you'd like. If you add colors, the handle should be brown, the color of wood. The blade part, as well as the top part of the handle (the part you marked off with the horizontal line a few spaces below the very top in step 1) would be silver in color.
