    • 1). Restart your computer.

    • 2). Press the "Delete" or "F2" key when you see text appear on the screen. Some computers use "F10" instead; it depends on the brand. If you can't seem to find the right key, read the text that appears on the screen; the key to enter BIOS will be listed.

    • 3). Enter the password (if one is required) to enter the BIOS. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate the menu and refer to the legend (since every BIOS is different) shown on the screen. It will display the information needed to change the values. Common keys that change values are "Enter," "PgUp" and the "PgDn" keys. Settings you change in BIOS can be the voltage your hardware uses, what order the system checks devices to boot from or what frequencies your processor and memory run at. If you wanted to increase the MHz your Pentium 3 runs at, you could increase the multiplier your system is using. So if you had a multiplier of 3, you could change it to either a 4 or 5.

    • 4). Select "Save and Exit" once you've finished making your changes.
