- 1). Turn on your Dell Inspiron 6000. Wait while it loads Windows.
- 2). Press and hold the "FN" key on the unit's keyboard.
- 3). Tap the "F6" key on the Inspiron's keyboard to turn down the back light. As you continue to tap "F6", a status indicator will appear on screen letting you know the overall level of the back light.
- 4). Tap the "F7" key on the Inspiron's keyboard to turn down the back light. As you continue to tap "F7", a status indicator will appear on screen letting you know the overall level of the back light.
