    • 1). Put masking tape over the electrical outlets on the walls you will be removing the wallpaper from; this will prevent water damage and electrical danger. Lay a drop cloth down in the room to protect the floor from water damage.

    • 2). Pour equal parts vinegar and hot water into a spray bottle, using a funnel to avoid spills.

    • 3). Hold the spray bottle six inches away from the wall and spray the wallpaper with the vinegar and water mixture so that it becomes saturated. Work in sections, spraying one 3-by-4-foot area at a time. Let the mixture soak into the wallpaper for 15 to 20 minutes.

    • 4). Use a paint scraper to scrape the wallpaper off the wall. Apply gentle, even pressure to avoid scratching the wall.

    • 5). Spray any stubborn spots with the vinegar and water mixture again and let it soak in for another 15 minutes. Continue to spray and scrape as needed until the wallpaper is no longer adhered to the wall.

    • 6). Wipe the walls down with a clean, damp sponge to remove any remaining wallpaper paste. Dry the walls using a clean, cotton towel.
