How to Install a 3D Video Card on an HP Computer

    • 1). Click "Start," "Control Panel" and click "Programs and Features."

    • 2). Click the driver program for your old graphics card and select "Uninstall."

    • 3). Shut down the HP computer and unplug it.

    • 4). Remove the thumbscrew at the back of the case and slide off the side panel.

    • 5). Unscrew the old card from the PCI-E slot near the center of the motherboard of your HP computer and pull it out of the case.

    • 6). Insert the new card into the open PCI-E slot and screw it into position. Connect a power lead to the card if your card has an external power port.

    • 7). Close up the HP computer and restart it. Insert the driver CD for the card and click "Install." Follow the onscreen instructions (accepting the license agreement and selecting your desired location for the program files) to complete the install.
