How to Clean Chlorine Residue From Hot Tub Steps
- 1). Pour hot water in a container and pour it on the hot tub steps. Then, wipe the steps down with a rag. This works well if the hot tub is outdoors.
- 2). Moisten a towel with hot water and wipe the steps down. This works well for a hot tub that is indoors where you cannot pour hot water on them.
- 3). Scrub the steps with a nylon scrub brush. Dip the scrub brush in hot water and the chlorine residue should come off. If not, mix in 1 to 2 cups of vinegar for every gallon of water and continue to scrub the steps after dipping the brush in the vinegar solution.
- 4). Dry the steps with an absorbent towel to remove any remaining residue and to dry the area near the steps, if applicable.
