- 1). Attach a power adapter to an available power supply cable that is made to connect between the male connector on the power supply and the female adapter on the fan cable. Connect the fan cable to the adapter.
- 2). Disconnect a power supply cable from an optical drive or floppy drive if there are no available connectors for the fan and attach a power splitter to the cable. Plug one end of the splitter back into the drive and plug the fan into the other end of the splitter, or attach an adapter to the splitter to attach the fan cable.
- 3). Connect a power supply cable extension adapter to reach fans that are located beyond the range of standard power supply cables.
