- 1). Shut down your computer and disconnect all cables from the back of the tower.
- 2). Move your computer tower to a flat, well-lit surface.
- 3). Remove the access panel retaining screws from the back of the tower. The Presario SR1319RS uses two screws on the back, right-hand side of the tower to secure the side access panel to the frame.
- 4). Remove the access panel and set it aside.
- 5). Place the electro-static discharge wrist strap around your wrist and connect the other end to the frame of the tower.
- 6). Insert the new RAM module into an available DIMM slot. Make sure the RAM module is properly seated into the slot. The retaining clips on each side of the DIMM slot will fully close on the ends of the RAM module when it is fully seated.
- 7). Return the side access panel to your tower and secure it with the retaining screws.
- 8). Reconnect all cables to your computer tower and boot it up. Your computer will automatically recognize the new RAM.
