How to Install Glass Doorknobs
- 1). Make sure that any material from a preexisting doorknob is removed from the door and that the hole in the door is completely free of hardware from the old knobs.
- 2). Make sure that the pawl mechanism (the mechanism that allows the latch to moves in and out of the door jamb when the knob is turned) is in place.
- 3). Separate the detachable knob from the rod connecting the two knobs.
- 4). Slide the rod with the other knob still attached through the hole in the door, making sure that the knob and the facing plate behind it are pressed firmly against the wooden door.
- 5). Attach the knob that you separated in Step 3 back to the rod on the other side of the door.
- 6). Screw the facing plates into the door using either a screwdriver or a power drill until they are tight.
