How to Sanitize Laminate Floors

    • 1). Sweep your laminate floors with a soft bristle broom. Collect any dust or refuse in a dustpan.

    • 2). Dip your microfiber mop into your bucket of warm, clean water. Wring your mop thoroughly. The mop should be damp, not wet, when you use it on your laminate floors.

    • 3). Mop your floors with the damp mop. Whenever you notice that your mop is losing effectiveness due to too little water or too much grime, clean off your mop in your bucket and re-wring it. You are first cleaning your floor with water, to remove dirt, then you will use the vinegar solution to sanitize the floors.

    • 4). Empty your mop bucket and add a gallon of warm water, as well as 1/2 cup of vinegar. Open your spray bottle. Pour your vinegar solution into the bottle by using a funnel, or just dip the bottle into the bucket to fill it with the solution. Replace the spray bottle's top.

    • 5). Spray your floors with the solution before you use your mop. A University of Kentucky College of Agriculture cleaning guide recommends spraying instead of wetting your mop with the solution to avoid over-saturating your floor with the vinegar solution.
