    Christmas Ornaments

    • You can bake Christmas ornament--shaped cookies using a cookie cutter, with a small hole punched out on top of each cookie. Give each person participating in this craft three or four cookies and some red licorice laces. Begin this edible craft by spreading vanilla frosting or colored frosting corresponding to the color of the M&M's on each cookie. Then press mini or regular-sized M&M's (depending on the size of the cookie) onto the frosting. Each of the cookies should be covered in a different color of M&M's, such as blue, red, green or yellow. After 30 minutes, you can tie the licorice as a ribbon through the hole.

    Smiley Face Cupcakes

    • Bake as many vanilla or chocolate cupcakes as you need. When the cupcakes are ready, you can spread yellow-colored vanilla frosting on top of each cupcake. Create a smiley face by using brown M&M's for the eyes and for the smile. After all of the brown M&M's are in place, cover the rest of the top of the cupcake with yellow M&M's. Although yellow is the typical color choice for this craft, you may use other colors of M&M's instead.

    Gingerbread House

    • You can decorate gingerbread houses, a traditional Christmas favorite, using M&M's or a mixture of M&M's and other candies. After you have assembled the gingerbread house, all you have to do is use M&M's to decorate it. Royal icing, which is made with eggs and powdered sugar, not only holds the house together, but it also adheres the candies to the house. You can use M&M's to create patterns, such as candy canes or simple geometric patterns, on the entire house.

    Rainbow Cookies

    • Using a cookie cutter, bake rainbow-shaped cookies for this art project. This project makes use of almost all the colors of plain M&M's. After the cookies are baked, cover them with vanilla icing. Then press the M&M's onto the icing row by row. The colors of the rainbow will include red, orange, yellow, green, blue and finally purple M&M's. Alternatively, you can add all of these different colors without following a pattern to make a colorful, rainbow-shaped cookie.
