How to Make My Moped Look Like a Motorcycle
- 1). Get a custom paint job. Motorcycles are known for their unique paint jobs, so giving your moped a similar look will make it look more like a motorcycle. While you can certainly do it yourself (see the "Customize Your Moped" link in the Resources section), taking it to a professional automobile body shop will give it a more high-powered look.
- 2). Swap out tires. Factory wheels, or the tires that come standard on your moped, normally aren't the largest tires that your vehicle can accommodate. Go for bigger tires to give your moped a motorcycle look. Some motorcycles even have custom tire rims, so if your moped can fit rims (not all can, since sizes vary greatly in the moped category), have a professional rim dealer install rims on your scooter as well.
- 3). Add a visor. A face shield, or visor, is a simple accessory that most mopeds do not come with. Purchase one and install it on your moped to give it more of a motorcycle look, since many motorcyclists install visors.
