How to Make an Origami Diamond Step-by-Step
- 1). Fold the paper in half every direction possible, unfolding every time in between, and leaving the paper unfolded after finishing all folds. You will fold the paper down, across and from each corner to the opposite corner. This will be a total of four folds.
- 2). Push the two sides from the middle toward the center of the paper and push the top down toward the bottom to form a triangle.
- 3). Fold up the two corners on each side up so the edges are flush with the center crease. Start with the left and right corner of the first side, then flip it over and do the other side. This will form a square rotated with the corners facing toward you.
- 4). Fold the lower edges of the rotated square in toward the center line. Again fold the front side before flipping to the back and doing the same thing. When finished, it should have a kite shape.
- 5). Rotate the kite shape upside down, so the shorter end is facing you. This shows the open pockets, and the flaps.
- 6). Fold up each of the four flaps, two on each side, into the pockets.
- 7). Blow into the narrow end of the diamond to expand it into its final shape. Do not blow too hard, as doing so can cause it to fall apart.
