How to Draw Squids
- 1). Draw the shape of a large carrot, or rounded rectangle, for the body of the squid. Add a few lines to the large end of the carrot shape for tentacles.
- 2). Enlarge the tentacles and add about five or six for a total of seven or nine tentacles. Make two or three tentacles longer than the rest. Use smooth, flowing lines for the tentacles to make it appear as if the squid were in water.
- 3). Adjust the lines of the body to match the kind of squid you want to draw. Some squids have a spade-like shape at the top of their bodies where the eyes go, while others have more rounded bodies. Some squids have what looks like a skirt placed over their bodies.
- 4). Add in shading and highlighting as desired. Give a few of the tentacles suction cup texture. Draw large eyes on the squid's head.
