How to Plug a Tie Hole in Concrete Wall
- 1). Purchase tie hole filler or sealer. These products can be found at most home improvement or hardware stores. If you have difficulty finding tie hole filler or sealer, look up a contractor or mason in your local phone book and call him to ask where he purchases his materials
- 2). Mix the tie hole filler or sealer with water according to the manufacturer's instructions located on the product's packaging. Mixture amounts vary, but in general, there should be about 1/5 of a gallon of water and 8 1/2 pounds of mix. Pour the water into a mixing bucket and stir in the tie hole sealer. Mix with a trowel until no lumps remain, then allow approximately 1 minute for the mixture to set.
- 3). Apply the tie hole filler or sealer mixture to the tie hole in the concrete wall using a trowel. Spread the mixture evenly and smooth with the trowel's edge. Allow the filler to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions; generally, this will be about 24 hours.
