How to Install Cement Forms Fast

    • 1). Pre-measure the hole to be dug. Since you are using a form, you can simply lay the form in place on the ground and spray paint along the perimeter. This will mark exactly where you need to dig. Determine how deep you need to dig, which will depend upon what you construction project is. Spray paint the depth next to the perimeter markings in case you forget.

    • 2). Drive a backhoe close to the hole to be dug, with the rear facing the hole to be dug. Set down the stabilizer feet to give a stable digging platform. Dig only within the markings you spray painted, but if you accidentally dig outside the lines, do not repair the error. You can repair after the form is set because speed is of the essence beforehand, not after.

    • 3). Dig down the the level mandated by your construction plan and lay in a 2 inch deep bed of gravel. The gravel seats the concrete form and prevents it from shifting during constriction. It also serves as a bed for the concrete structure. Use a shovel to smooth out the gravel so that it is relatively flat.

    • 4). Place the cement form in the hole. Push the cement form all the way down so that it is flush with the cement bed. You can pour concrete now and refill any holes dug in error while the cement is poured. If you are not going to pour that day, cover the cement form and hole in plastic sheeting to prevent moisture from seeping into the concrete.
