    • 1). Measure the size of the exhaust fan in millimeters. Most exhaust fans are 120 or 80 mm in size. If there are multiple fans in the exhaust system, measure each fan.

    • 2). Purchase a magnetic computer dust filter for each fan in your cabinet based on the size of the fan. If your fan's size is irregular, choose a filter that is larger than the opening.

    • 3). Remove the filter from its magnetic mounting strip and peel the adhesive from the strip.

    • 4). Place the adhesive side of the strip against the edge of the fan or the exhaust port. Choose a location where the air will flow through the filter before it gets to the fan. Press firmly to stick the magnetic strip into place.

    • 5). Press the filter against the magnetic strip so that the magnets hold it in place.
