Fishing in Southern Ohio Lakes
- East Fork Lake, Stonelick Lake, and Senecaville Lake are three of the larger southern Ohio lakes. These lakes are ideal for boaters and others who enjoy large lakes. Many of these large lakes are adjacent to state parks or other recreational facilities including campgrounds and picnic facilities that make these lakes ideal for family trips.
- Anglers who want to get away from the crowds can often find peaceful locations to fish in the smaller lakes of southern Ohio, such as Cowan Lake, Turkey Creek Lake and Timbre Ridge Lake. These smaller lakes restrict boat motors, eliminating many pleasure boaters and big fishing boats.
- Through natural reproduction and stocking, the waters of southern Ohio provide a number of game fish species for anglers. From largemouth bass to muskie, fish naturally found in the streams of Ohio are present in the lakes for anglers. Ohio also stocks rainbow trout in many of the southern Ohio lakes.
