- 1). Connect your iPhone to your computer and upgrade the phone to the latest version of iPhone software available. Note that this process will completely erase any jailbreak or unlock you have conducted before. This upgrade will assure you have the most up-to-date iPhone software running your phone's operating system. Simply connecting your phone to the computer and loading iTunes will give you the option to update and download the latest software options. iTunes will also tell you if you have the latest software on your phone and if it needs to be updated. This will happen automatically once your phone is plugged in.
- 2). Complete a jailbreak of your iPhone that will allow it to be easily modified. This process allows your phone's operating system to be modified and edited to get around restrictions places in the iPhones operating system. To jailbreak the phone simply download the program "blackra1n" from any Internet site that provides information on how to modify an iPhone (see "Resources"). The blackra1n software, once launched, self installs and allows for the firmware to be modified and customized. Note jailbreaking affects the software on the phone --- not the phone's ability to connect to different networks and read sim cards from other networks. It just allows you to download the software to unlock the phone.
- 3). Connect your phone to your Wi-Fi network so that the software you need to unlock the phone can be downloaded faster and is not met with unnecessary delays or download interruptions that can happen when using a 3G connection.
- 4). Open the Cyndia app on your iPhone, which is an app store that is available only after your iPhone is jailbroken. Once the your phone is jailbroken Cyndia is automatically loaded to your phone so no additional downloads are required.
- 5). Select the manage option on the bottom menu of the Cyndia app.
- 6). Select the "sources" option, which will allow you to add a new directory where the Cyndia app will look for software to download.
- 7). Enter the source directory "reppo666.ultrasn0w.com" when prompted and select to add the source.
- 8). Go to the Cyndia app's search feature and search for the program "ultrasn0w."
- 9). Download and launch "ultrasn0w," which will remove the restriction that limits the iPhone to only the AT&T network (see "Resources"). The "ultrasn0w" program will self install. Just follow the directions when prompted on the screen. "Ultrasn0w" works exactly like an app and will be downloaded like a regular iPhone app, but must be downloaded through Cyndia as it is not an authorized Apple app.

Place the sim card of the new provider into your iPhone. Once this card is installed you are now using another wireless provider's network and your iPhone is unlocked.
