Beech Branch Crafts

    Necklace Holder

    • Keep your necklaces organized and untangled by displaying them on a beech branch necklace holder. Find a beech branch about 1 to 2 feet tall, depending on how long your necklaces are. The branch does not need to be completely straight, and can include some curves, but make sure there are smaller twigs off the main branch. Bore a shallow hole the size of the branch's diameter in a small, heavy wooden block. Apply a heavy-duty glue in the hole and place the base of the beech branch inside, holding it until the glue dries. The branch should now be standing up. Hang your necklaces from the smaller off-shoot twigs and display on a vanity or desk.

    Decorative Picture Frame

    • Find an old frame with flat surfaces on all four sides, or purchase a cheap cardboard frame meant for decorating from an arts and crafts store. Cut a beech branch into small, round slices, each about 1 centimeter thick. Make sure that the diameter of the beech branch is not much wider than the frame's sides. Apply a heavy-duty glue on all four sides of the frame, and place each beech tree circle slice flat on the frame next to one another, making sure each circle is touching. Allow the glue to dry before inserting a picture.

    Towel Hooks

    • To add a rustic element to your home, beech branches can be made into towel hooks for your bathroom. Find a beech branch about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Cut the branch into three pieces, each about 4 inches long. Purchase three flat, square-shaped wooden blocks, no thicker than 1 inch each, and bore a shallow hole as wide as the branch's diameter in the center of each. Apply heavy-duty glue in each hole and place the base of each beech branch in one of the three holes. Allow the glue to dry, then attach each block to your bathroom wall with two nails at the top and bottom of the block's surface. The branches should stick straight out from the base you glued them in and can be used to hang towels or bathrobes.

    Curtain Rod

    • To give your living room, bedroom or study a more rustic look, turn a beech branch into a curtain rod. Measure the width of your window and cut a beech branch 6 inches wider so that when hung, the branch extends over the window by 3 inches on each side. To give your branch rod more character, leave some stubby twigs attached to the branch and spray paint the branch in a color that complements your walls. Install two curtain hooks on either side of the window, attach your curtains onto the branch with curtain rings and rest the branch on the curtain hooks.
