How to Make Doll Fleece Blankets
- 1). Measure a piece of fleece that is large enough to cover a baby doll. Add several inches to both the length and width to make the blanket comfortably large enough to cover the doll. If you will be cutting a fringed border, add several more inches to both dimensions.
- 2). Cut the fleece to the determined dimensions.
- 3
Sew a blanket stitch around the edge of the fleece with yarn. Bring a threaded needle up from the bottom at a point just inside an edge of the fleece. Insert the needle down diagonally and to the right about 1/4 inch away. Bring the needle back up approximately 1/4 inch away from the first point where the yarn came up. Pull the thread tight so the stitch is a right-angled corner. Repeat the blanket stitch by inserting the needle down diagonally again to the right about 1/4 inch away. Continue in this fashion around the entire border of the fleece blanket. - 4). Alternately, make a fringed edging for the blanket. Make 1 1/2-inch cuts every 1/4 inch around each of the four edges.
