How to Make Balloon Animal Flowers

    • 1). Use an air pump to blow up the balloon that is meant to serve as the petals of the flower. Inflate the balloon all the way, then let out a little air so that there's about a 1-inch tail on the end of the balloon. Knot the balloon.

    • 2). Grab the two ends of the balloon and twist them together to form the balloon into a ring. Turn the ring 180 degrees and grab hold of the balloon with both hands. Twist your hands in opposite directions to form a seam in the balloon that is directly across from the spot where the two ends join.

    • 3). Squeeze the ring together tightly so that it resembles two balloons lying parallel to each other. Divide the balloon into thirds, folding it into a Z shape. This will ensure that the petals are uniform.

    • 4). Unfold the balloon and make two twists, one on each of the bends. Gather the three rings into a stack, gripping them at the twists and sliding your fingers in the center of the rings to hold them in place. Push the rings in so that all the twists meet in the center. Twist the two sides in opposite directions, forming six loops fused in the center. The loops are the six petals. Set the blossom aside.

    • 5). Inflate the second balloon completely and then deflate it until about 2 inches of space remain in the tip. Turn the balloon around so that you're gripping the end opposite the knot. Squeeze the tip until a bubble of air moves in, then twist it off. Slide the tip in between the petals of the flower, centering the bubble of air on top of the blossom and slipping in the empty section of balloon underneath.

    • 6). Make a twist in the stem directly underneath the blossom. Go down the stem about an inch and make another twist to form a bubble. Bend the blossom down until it is nearly parallel to the stem.

    • 7). Go about halfway down the stem and fold the bottom half into thirds. Make a twist in the center of the section, then release it. The result should be two loops (or leaves) sticking out on either side of the stem and the rest of the balloon continuing downward.
