How to Clean Non-Sealed Granite
- 1). Wipe or sweep the granite regularly to remove small surface particles and debris such as dust, sand, food or dirt. Use soft clothes or soft-bristled brooms. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar attachment, which could scratch the stone.
- 2). Clean the granite using either a stone cleaner made for natural stones like granite or neutral PH soap. Use a mop or sponge to apply the cleaner.
- 3). Rinse the granite well with fresh, clean water after cleaning. Soaps can build up on the stone, dulling its surface over time. Rinsing away any residue will help keep the granite's surface in its original state.
- 4). Dry the granite with a soft cloth to ensure that no water spots dry on its surface.
