How to Make a Birdseed Wreath With Corn Syrup
- 1). In a large bowl, combine flour, water, corn syrup and birdseed. Add the gelatin for added strength. If you are adding fruit or nuts, you may want to use less birdseed so that the combination of nuts, fruit and birdseed totals four cups.
- 2). Cover the counter or table with wax paper and roll out the birdseed mixture until it is 1/2 inch thick. Line a large Bundt pan (or several small Bundt pans) with wax paper. Press mixture into the pan to form a wreath shape.
Alternatively, you may roll out the mixture on wax paper and cut apart with cookie cutters. - 3). Allow the wreath to dry in the pan overnight. Remove the wreath, turn over and allow to dry for several more hours.
- 4). Decorate with bows and hang the wreath with ribbon or twine.
