- 1). Unroll the solar blanket and drag it carefully, bubble-side down, over the surface of the pool. Leave it there for at least two sunny days to eliminate any folds due to packaging.
- 2). Cut the blanket carefully so that it stretches 8 to 10 cm up the pool wall on all sides.
- 3). Cut a flap from the solar blanket to fit into the skimmer box of your pool. This will provide an opening to the skimmer box so that you can hose any debris from the top of the solar blanket into the box before removing the blanket.
- 4). Leave the blanket on the pool for another day or two before completing the final trim.
- 5). Trim the edges of the blanket so that they only run 5 to 8 cm up the sides of the pool. This will heat the pool most efficiently, while keeping the blanket in place and preventing debris from falling from the cover into the pool.
