- 1). Sweep your floors with a broom and dust pan. Mix 1/4 cup all-purpose floor cleaner with 1 gallon warm water. Dip a mop in the mixture and mop the entire surface of your floor. Give it ample time to dry.
- 2). Add 1 cup of floor wax to a spray bottle with 2 cups water. Place a red, all purpose buffing pad on the bottom of your floor buffer and lock it into place. Move the buffing machine over to the corner of the room, furthest from the entrance. Adjust the handle of the buffing machine so that it fits in the bend above your waist.
- 3). Spray the square yard of flooring in front of you and move your buffing machine across it. Turn on the machine and run it back and forth, from one end of the room to the other, giving the floor a spray of your buffing mixture every square yard or so. Continue in this manner until you've buffed the entire floor.
