How to Tie a Blanket With Crocheting Yarn
- 1). Spread backing, filling and the top of your blanket on a clean floor. This will give you ample room to work.
- 2). Cut crochet yarn into 8-inch pieces. Cut 50 pieces to start. You can always cut more later if you need to.
- 3). Thread a darning needle with one piece of yarn. Push the needle down through the layers. Reenter the fabric approximately 1/8 inch from where you exited the back, and pull the thread from the bottom to the top. Leave the end on the top of the blanket. Hold onto the end if necessary to keep it from slipping through.
- 4). Slip the needle off of the thread. Tie the thread in a double knot on top of the fabric.
- 5). Repeat steps 1-4 all over the blanket. You can tie in a random pattern or in a grid. Ties should be 4 to 6 inches apart.
- 6). Trim the ends of the thread to 1.5 to 2 inches Bind your blanket in any method you choose.
