    • 1). Insert the tip of your flat-head screwdriver in the seam between the top panel of the iPod Mini and the body of the unit. Pry up gently to pop it off.

    • 2). Repeat with the bottom panel on the iPod Mini.

    • 3). Remove the two screws from the top of the iPod.

    • 4). Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the metal frame on the bottom of the Mini out of the unit. This will expose an orange cable which connects near the bottom of the Mini.

    • 5). Unplug the cable from its port near the bottom of the mini and insert your thumb into the bottom of the iPod. Push the internal components out through the top and remove them.

    • 6). Locate the blue battery on the circuit board of the iPod Mini and lift it up to expose the battery cable. Unplug the battery cable from its port on the circuit board and set the old battery aside.

    • 7). Fit a new battery on the circuit board and plug the cable into the port. Reverse the steps for iPod reassembly.
