    • 1). Find a box top that is in very good to perfect condition. The size of the top depends on the number of stuffed friends that need to be gathered in one place. One suggestion is to use the top of a box that ships copier paper. These usually are among the sturdiest boxes and tops. Another option is to use a regular box and cut the sides down to the required size.

    • 2). Reinforce all corners with high strength box tape or packaging tape. Providing extra support on the inside and outside of box corners is important since the corners absorb considerable stress when the box or top is lifted and moved. For added support, it is a good idea to add a sturdy piece of cardboard that is cut to size on what will be the bottom of the animal organizer.

    • 3). Add batting around the entire box. Inside and outside, cut batting to conform to the bottom and sides. Glue the batting to the box to provide a soft cushion base for the fabric.

    • 4). Select the fabric and cut to size to fit the box. The fabric you choose might go with the decor of the room, or it might include a theme that is consistent with the kind of animals that reside in the box. A fabric featuring dogs and bones, for example, can be used to cover a box that houses all kinds of dog stuffed animals.

    • 5). Attach the fabric. The fabric is glued to the batting, creating a finished box organizer for the collection.

    • 6). Final touches. Tie or glue ribbons around the organizer and add any other desired decorations. Position the animals in the box. Easily move them to and from the bed every day, or place them on a bureau or rocking chair in the room.
