- 1). Tap the App Store on your iPod touch and search for "remote." Alternatively, search the name of the manufacturer of your DVR or Blu-ray device to see if it offers a remote app. For example, Sony and Samsung, two major TV/Blu-ray manufacturers, offer remote apps.
- 2). Browse the listings to find one or more apps you want to use. Tap the price button to download them.
- 3). Launch the app and connect the iPod to your device. For example, to connect iTunes to Apple's Remote app, a pass code appears on your touch and you enter it into iTunes. Each app is different, so follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
- 4). Use the app's buttons or gestures on your iPod touch similar to how you would use a regular remote.
